NAIFA created the Young Advisors Team (YAT) for members who are 40 years of age and under, or within their first five years in the industry. The purpose is to research the needs of young advisors and to ensure that they receive the vital tools, resources, and networks necessary to succeed in the financial services industry.
The National YAT Committee works closely with other NAIFA national committees to develop future programs and membership initiatives. We always welcome your input! Send your ideas and comments to yat@naifa.org.

- YAT isn't just 40 and under anymore! In order to address the growing numbers of agents and advisors that come to the business as a second career and often find themselves needing the support and resources that YAT was created to provide, YAT felt it was necessary to step up and speak to a rising need. The 2006-07 YAT Committee drafted a new mission statement that includes those who are within their first five years in the business, regardless of age. The new statement reads: YAT's mission is to serve the needs of NAIFA's 40 and under advisors, and those within their first five years in the industry, by providing the resources to succeed in the financial services industry.
Those who provide a license date on their membership application that is within the last five years will receive YAT Chat, Advisor Today’s monthly online newsletter for YATs. In addition, those within their first five years in the business are welcome to attend YAT functions throughout the federation. Spread the word! - What does NAIFA 21 mean for you? Advocacy
Advocacy is a vital component of the NAIFA mission and it’s not possible without members’ contributions to NAIFA's
Insurance and Financial Advisors Political Action Committee (IFAPAC). To encourage PAC involvement at all levels,
YAT (the Young Advisors Team) has partnered with IFAPAC to create a new initiative aimed at first-time contributors
who are 40 or under or within their first five years in the business. Click here for more information on the YATPAC initiative.
YATPAC has partnered with IFAPAC for a Contributor Matching Program exclusively for first time IFAPAC contributors! Thanks to the generosity of Jules Gaudreau, member of the NAIFA Board of Trustees and Trustee Liaison to the National YAT Committee, up to $2500 of first time IFAPAC contributions will be matched between June 2, 2008 and August 31, 2008.
This Contributor Matching Program differs slightly from previous programs – please review the guidelines below:
- The Contributor Matching Program (CMP) will be open to all states.
- All contributions MUST be made online and the contributor MUST check the “YATPAC” yes box.
- The program will match up to $50 of each new* YAT contribution, with the goal of attracting 50 new contributors to IFAPAC.
- The program will run from 06/02/08 to 08/31/08 or until Jules Gaudreau’s contribution has been fully allocated.
- The program is on a first come, first serve basis.
- The YATPAC initiative is not a separate PAC – all contributions will go to IFAPAC.
- Contributors will be recognized at the 2008 Annual Convention and Career Conference.
* “New IFAPAC contributors” are defined as current NAIFA members who have never contributed to IFAPAC or current NAIFA members who haven’t contributed to IFAPAC within the last four years.
