September 28, 2006 –To accommodate the busy schedules of insurance agents and advisors, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) is leveraging the latest technology to offer its popular, monthly magazine, Advisor Today, in digital format. For more than 100 years, the magazine has been a trusted source for agents and advisors on business strategies and other resources.
Launched in September, the electronic version of Advisor Today is an alternative to the print edition. Subscribers can choose to receive the magazine in either the digital or print forma. Given the research conducted by magazine staff and trends in the publishing marketplace, NAIFA expects the digital edition to be a hit with Advisor Today readers.
“It’s no secret that many print outlets are losing subscribers,” said John Davidson, NAIFA’s president. “More people look to digital technology and the Internet—their computers—to get valuable information. Our members are no exception. In the last year Advisor Today staff has launched other projects, including podcasts featuring sales ideas and a streamlined website, so NAIFA members can get information they want when they want it. With the magazine, NAIFA has taken its tech-savvy edge a step further. We’re making the magazine available in the new format in response to the times and the changing needs of our members in this digital age.”
The electronic version of the complete issue of Advisor Today allows readers to easily skim through the magazine. The many convenient features include:
- Zoom: For a closer look at each page, click directly on that page.
- Links: This feature lists all of the web links and email addresses in each magazine.
- Search: Use the search tool to display all relevant articles.
- Archives: View all available archived issues of the magazine.
- Download: Save a copy of the magazine directly to your computer for offline viewing.
- Print: Click the print icon for easy article portability.
NAIFA plans to send offer letters to Advisor Today subscribers by email for the next three months. The message will include a link to the digital magazine. After the three-month introductory period, readers will have the option of converting their subscription to the new digital format or to continue with the print format.
Subscribers can also access the digital issue online at Advisor Today’s companion website, www.advisortoday.com.
